July 2025
This month, we’re rolling out three major updates across the ViewSonic ecosystem: myViewBoard 3.0, the new unified ViewSonic Account, and the updated vCastSender Chrome extension. Read on for more details.
myViewBoard 3.0 release
The global launch of myViewBoard 3.0 delivers an intuitive, engaging, and inclusive whiteboarding experience, shaped by feedback from educators worldwide. This version features streamlined navigation and richer interaction to support diverse classroom needs.
Key enhancements include:
Redesigned interface: Context-sensitive menus and controls reduce navigation complexity and accelerate onboarding.
Multi-tab support: Instructors can run simultaneous lesson segments or resources without closing sessions.
Advanced annotation tools: Pen, text, and shape highlighters facilitate real-time feedback and collaborative drawing.
Built‑in polling: Live quizzes and instant feedback tools help gauge student understanding on the fly.
Upgrading is straightforward:
- Android (up to v11) or iOS (iOS 15.5 or later) versions get the update via OTA.
- macOS users (v13 or later) can find the new release in the App Store.
- Users on Windows 10 Pro 64‑bit (v19041 or later) must perform a fresh install.

Migration to ViewSonic Account
We’re consolidating all ViewSonic services—including myViewBoard, Manager, ClassSwift, and TeamOne—under a single ViewSonic Account to streamline access and management. Your existing myViewBoard credentials and data will carry over automatically, so no action is needed on your part.

vCastSender Chrome extension update
Due to Google’s deprecation of legacy Chrome Apps in Chrome OS v138 and later, the old vCastSender app will no longer function on updated Chromebooks. We’ve released a new vCastSender extension with the same casting and streaming capabilities.
New vCastSender chrome extension
To continue using vCastSender:
Update vCast on ViewBoard: Ensure your ViewBoard’s vCast application is running version 3.2.1 or later.
Install new extension: Visit the Chrome Web Store and add the vCastSender extension.
Grant permissions: Allow screen sharing and audio capture in Chrome OS settings.
Restart device: Reboot your Chromebook or restart Chrome to complete installation.
Consult the SOP: Follow the Installation & Usage SOP for detailed configuration and troubleshooting guidelines.
