Live Captions
Activate Live Captions to generate real-time captions from your speech for improved accessibility. This ensures all students stay engaged, regardless of hearing abilities.
Launching Live Captions
To launch the feature, perform the following:
- Click the Magic Box on the main toolbar.
- On the menu, locate and click the feature icon.
Note that the menu has two tabs:- The Home tab displays all tools by category.
- The All Features tab displays all tools as a list.
- A new window should open.
⚠️ Availability
Access to this feature is only available to:
- Users subscribed with a Pro plan
- Users under an Entity account
Activation
The Live Captions feature is not enabled by default. To enable, an entity admin must contact their ViewSonic representative to activate this feature for the entity. Once enabled, entity admins can then check the status of the feature via the Entity Subscription page:

Important information about using Live Captions are listed below:
Live Captions icon is missing
Perform the following:
- Verify first that you are logged in to myViewBoard.
- Verify that your account is registered under a myViewBoard Entity.
- If it is: contact us to enable this feature, as it is disabled my default.
Live Captions icon active but no captions
Possible reasons and workarounds:
- Check if the device has a built-in microphone, or you have connected one.
- Check if the device has a dedicated key or button to enable or disable the microphone.
- Check if your microphone is working:
- Click the Windows search icon in the taskbar.
- Search for microphone privacy settings.
- Enable Allow apps to access your microphone.
- Scroll down to check myViewBoard has access to the microphone.
- Check your microphone level:
- Open Control Panel.
- Search for Manage audio devices.
- Click Recording to view your microphone(s).
- Say something and observe if the microphone level indicator is green (audio is picking up) or red (audio is loud).
- Alternately, if the audio level is too low, consider moving the microphone closer to you.
- Restart myViewBoard and try Live Captions again.

Live Captions with other apps
You can use the Live Captions feature from myViewBoard over other apps:
- Activate Live Captions.
- Minimize the myViewBoard app or switch to Desktop mode.
- Continue talking and the live captions will still appear at the top of the screen.
Live Captions in recordings
Use the Screen Recorder feature in your myViewBoard to record your screen during your presentation. Live Captions will be included in the recording.
Live Captions accuracy
First, verify that your microphone is working properly (see sections above). Then, try the following:
- Make sure you are not too far away from the microphone.
- If the background noise is high, it can also negatively affect Live Captions.
- Make sure you have selected the right language and location.
