Selected devices must all have anĀ Advanced license assigned.

  3. Click the BroadcastĀ Ā  button to launch theĀ Broadcast popup.

  4. Click Ā Media Content as theĀ Broadcast Type.Ā
The Media content option is only available if all selected devices have anĀ Advanced license assigned.

    3. Select Web page from the dropdown menu.

The Web Page window should appear. Provide the following information on this new window.

Specify the URL of the web page to broadcast. Make sure that this URL is live and publicly acessible.Ā

  • Broadcast YouTube video in full screenĀ
Some YouTube videos may not permit embedding a video in full screen. If the video does not display properly, disable this feature and try again.Ā

  • Refresh page everyĀ
Automatically reloads the web page at the specified interval.

Click Save to apply the changes.

You should be back on the Broadcast window.Ā

  1. Continue adding other media into the remaining sections of your layout.Ā
  2. Set additional parameters for this broadcast.Ā
  3. Once done, click Confirm to start the broadcast.

Web page behaviorĀ

Manager displays the live content of any web page you specify. Note the some sites may need some setup to run properly.

Standard Web pages

Keep in mind that users cannot interact with a web page during broadcast. For example: You want to broadcast your school's home page that features a carousel banner displaying important events. Ensure that this banner rotates automatically and does not require manual intervention to navigate through all the items. All key information must already be visible when the page first loads.Ā

Google Slides

Educational establishments may want to broadcast Google Slides presentations that loop indefinitely. To setup a Google Slides presentation for broadcast and get its public URL, perform the following:

  1. Launch the Google Slides website on your browser.
  2. On the File menu, click Share.
  3. SelectĀ Publish to webĀ from the options.Ā

  4. In the pop-up window:Ā
    1. Set the Auto advanceĀ timing for the slides.
    2. Check the Start slideshow as soon as the player loads box.
    3. Select Restart the slideshow after the last slide to make the presentation loop
    4. Click Publish.Ā Ā

  5. Click OKĀ  to confirm that you want to publish this presentation.Ā
  6. Copy the generated URL.Ā

Use this URL to setup the Web Page element in Manager. Always verify that the URL is publicly accessible to ensure that it is broadcasted properly. For more information on making Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms public, see the following page:

Additional behavior when broadcasting Google Slides presentations:

  • Publishing your Google Slides makes your presentation public. Always review the contents of the presentation to ensure that no personal information is shared.
  • YouTube videos embedded in a Google Slides presentation cannot automatically play during broadcast. This requires the presentation to be manually interacted with, which is not possible in a broadcast.

YouTube

Broadcasting a YouTube video only requires providing the YouTube URL, with the following recommendations:

  • We highly recommend using URLs taken from the browser's URL bar, not from YouTube's Share or Embed feature.
  • Set the Broadcast YouTube video in full screen toggle to ON so videos will display in full screen.
  • Note the following loop behaviors:
    • Videos and playlists will auto-loop
    • Playlists will auto-play to the next video

If a YouTube video does not play during broadcast:Ā

  • The owner may have disabled the Allow embedding setting for the video.Ā
  • Set the Broadcast YouTube video in full screen toggle to OFF. This may allow the video to play, though not in full screen. Some UI elements of the video's YouTube page may be visible.

YouTube (with Closed Captions)

To broadcast a YouTube video with closed captions, update your YouTube link so it uses the following format:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/[video ID]?autoplay=1&cc_load_policy=1&cc_lang_pref=[2-letter code]

Where:

  • video ID = the ID found in the video's URL after v=
  • 2-letter code = ISO 639-1 two-letter language code. See full list here.

For example: To show closed-captions in Spanish for this YouTube link:

Where:

  • -Fy8Sk2gDaM = Video ID
  • es = Two-letter language code for Spanish

Using the parameters above, our final URL will be:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/-Fy8Sk2gDaM?autoplay=1&cc_load_policy=1&cc_lang_pref=es

Afterwards, launch Manager and specify this URL for broadcasting a web page.

āŒ Auto-generated closed-captions are not supported

This method does not work on videos where the closed-captions are auto-generated dynamically by YouTube. The video must have closed-captions manually uploaded by the video creator.

Live Streams

You can also broadcast live streams as long as they meet the following requirements:

  • Provide a URL for a platform that hosts live video streams, like YouTube Live, Facebook, and Twitch.
  • Page should contain a video that is currently or will be live streaming at the time of broadcast.

To display YouTube live streams in full screen, use the URL found in the browser address bar. Do not use the URL from YouTube's Share feature.
